Tango Magdalena proudly presents Marietta Gelfort and Volker Sorger as our Students of the Month of January 2011.

When they stepped into the studio they projected such a great enthusiasm to learn Tango. Their consistency to the classes is now begriming to pay off, after only a dozen classes. It would be best, hearing directly from them:

" Dancing is a pleasure we both enjoyed on and off since teenage hood, but we never had the chance to do it together. When we started out, we were both very much into Salsa, but our styles differed so greatly, that it was hard to find a common ground.
We therefore were interested in learning a new dance that we could enjoy together and that would carry passion; in short, we were drawn to Tango. Browsing the web, we were looking for an environment we could relate to. The pictures on the homepage of Tango Magdalena suggested this, and it was even better in reality. Our teacher Jean-Pierre, as well as Vivian and Lindsey are fantastic and we love to spend our time there.
We just now had our 12th lesson and were excited to test out what we had learned at our first Milonga on New Year’s Eve. Making the first steps here on the dance floor brought a slight feeling of insecurity and apprehension, but that was easily forgotten, since the social environment was very friendly and supportive. Additionally, observing other dancers gliding above the floor, we gained new fascinating insights of the dance. Tango is like a relationship, if you listen to each other it will be great!
Our advice for newbie’s would be, go to a Milonga, better earlier than later, you can learn so much and it’s a lot of fun!
