SIMONA NECULA

It is always a beautiful experience to witness a student's progress and participate in a way, to their inner journey. Litlle by little, but surely, they begin to project their Tango. The metamorphosis is truly a marvellous experience.

We are very pleased to present Simona as our Student of the month in this edition. After only 9 to 10 group classes, along with some recommended couple ofclasses with Mirabai Deranja, Simona is definitely walking and expressing her Tango. She has started executing Sacadas!!!

"Tango

Why did the journey begin? Pure curiosity and challenge to myself. I am not a dancer or athlete of any sorts. Using body movement to communicate to myself and to others is completely unexplored territory for me and the more challenging for that same reason.

The tango path, as guided by Jean Pierre Sighe, involves for me discovering both the dance and the feeling. In a way I compare myself with an acrobat who learns to master the tight rope. 

The dance made me learn how to balance, how to control, how to respond to a partner. Like a little acrobat, in time your skills build up: walking without loosing balance, then with some elegance until everything looks smooth and effortless.

The feeling pushes me to enjoy and to let go(although I confess, most of the time  I build in my mind the map of steps that we had followed for future reference) but I know that the true thrill will come with the risk taking just like for the the master of the tight rope. 

I am learning the dance and I am looking forward to the time when I will live the tango."
