NICHOLA HILL
We are pleased to present Nichola Hill as our Student of the Month of August 2011. She has been a dedicated learner and has demonstrated constant progress in her Tango journey. We've done our part in her process, but ultimately the student's mental attitude is what determines the observed progress. That has been true with Nichola. Nichola first encountered tango after a year of backpacking through Latin America and fortuitously ending up in Buenos Aires. “Tango was one of the most exotic things I had ever seen. This was not how Australians behaved. And I loved it”. The urge to dance returned 5 years later while working as a biologist. “Professionally, I was fulfilled. But the right side of my brain was being neglected.” Nichola started classes on the advice of a co-worker who, as it turned out, was a teacher at Tango Magdalena. After the first class she was hooked. “I love the persona change that happens when you dance tango. It brings out a passion and confidence that you never knew you had“. Nichola has been dancing for 6 months now and fantasizes about one day returning to Buenos Aires and holding her own on the dance floor at a milonga.
We say to her a vivid Bravo and encourage her to keep it on!!!
